The 1st of October is International Coffee Day so what better way to celebrate than by sharing a round-up of the best places to go for coffee in the Forest of Dean? All recommendations are made by members of Forest of Dean Biz Women, the networking and support group that I run.
This is the first post in my 2022 attempt to take part in Blogtober. Blogtober is an annual event where bloggers post a new article every day throughout the month of October. I’ll do my best to achieve this, wish me luck!

Fantastic food, friendly staff, just perfect. – Heather Richardson, Local Discovery Card.
Great food, amazing coffee, cater for intolerances (I don’t get a funny look asking for bacon in a vegan roll), and the best bit – they are dog friendly, so I can take my boy in when he comes to work with me. – Kelly Davey, Nanny B’s Yarn Craft
Great coffee, nutritious food and I can get gluten-free. The staff are all so friendly and efficient. – Carolyn Thomas, Freedom Yoga.
Coco & Bliss, Lydney
The cakes are phenomenal and the coffee is great. – Nikki Knight, The Writing for Business Lady.
Ideally located for the school run and they have fantastic ice tea! – Kelly Davey, Nanny B’s Yarn Craft.
I had a lovely coffee at Coco & Bliss, Lydney. Liz Grindle, Ellevation Fitness.
Fairtrade St Stephens, St Stephens Church, Cinderford
We are opening St Stephen’s every Friday for “Fairtrade Friday: Coffee Afternoon” offering tea & coffee (obv) and almost always cakes (I can’t guarantee cakes on the rare Fridays I’m not there). At the moment, we are just doing donations for the refreshments, plus a chance to sit around and have a chat and browse the Fairtrade shop. But we 100% are not a coffee shop! Just trying to be a welcoming space for people. – Rachel Witham, Fairtrade at St Stephens.
Speech House Hotel, Coleford
A great place to go for coffee, cake and afternoon tea. Such a beautiful and historic location. – Nikki Knight, The Writing for Business Lady.
Perrygrove Railway, Coleford
Not only can you get delicious coffee and cake, but you can also walk the dog and keep the children entertained! – Read our review of Perrygrove here.

The friendliest staff in the world! Fantastic coffee, cakes and lunches. Karen Lander, The Top Cat Tutor.
Lovely staff, great food and cakes. Can’t be beaten! – Louise Sprekelson, Rejuvenate Healing Therapies.
I tried Scoffs in Coleford and that was lovely (and dog friendly). – Rachael Hopkins, Rachael Elizabeth Photography.
